Late Night with Roy. Then Let the Games Begin.
The college basketball season has officially started. We kicked off the year by going to “Late Night with Roy.” This is the first night that we are able to watch the basketball team. They do some funny dances to introduce the team and then we watch them practice for 30 minutes. It was pretty funny.
Then we went to their first exhibition game against UNC-Pembroke (a small local university). Yesterday we went to the first game of the season against Penn. In order to get tickets I have to sign up for the lottery each game where names are randomly chosen. Unfortunately I did not get tickets for the Penn game. However, the next day I found out my department was chosen to usher for the game. Brittany was able to come and they gave us free food to stand and watch the game. It was awesome! Congratulations to Brittany for going to her first game inside the Dean Dome.
To give me a better chance to win tickets I had some other people sign up for the lottery who aren’t interested in going. My plan has already payed off. Someone won and gave me tickets for the game this Tuesday night. I’m so excited! They are playing Kentucky and ESPN is coming to campus to televise their pre-game show at 8 PM. My goal is to make it to every game this year and I’m 2 for 2.
