This happened a while ago, but we forgot to post. Here is Lexi’s first snow.

We did a Candyland theme for Halloween this year. Here are the results.
Lexi was Princess Lolly.

Thank goodness I don’t have any pictures of myself running. Despite a lack of pictorial evidence, it is true. I have been running. My goal was to complete the couch to 5k program. I did it and lost 10 pounds in 10 weeks. Huzzah. Forget the fact I gained some back at Harry Potter World (totally worth it). I don’t know that I actually plan to run a 5k, but I do plan to keep going to lose more weight. Thank you Jenna for telling me a while back that running will help me lose weight fast. I didn’t want to believe it because of my aversion to running/working hard. Although I can’t say I enjoy a 30 minute run, I sure do love losing the weight.

I just finished reading this book and loved it. There isn’t much plot, mostly beautiful language. It’s a thinker.

We are almost on a routine with Lexi. We still have some kinks to work out, namely she wakes up crying from her naps after a half hour or so. Here is what we have achieved so far.
- Lexi wakes up at 7 am and is in bed by 7:30 pm! She sleeps all night (but she was doing this before)
- She only eats 5 times a day. What a RELIEF! What was I thinking feeding her 8 times a day. Live and learn.
- She naps 3 times a day…we are still working on her staying asleep for 1 1/2- 2 hours for her first two.
Perhaps by the end of the week she will be right as rain.

What were we thinking starting sleep training on a busy week? Needless to say it hasn’t worked because we haven’t been home. Also we decided “cry it out” is not for us.
Now, we are starting over with the Baby Whisperer method. So far I love it. Tomorrow starts our first day of actual technique implementation. This means I’m pretty much staying inside all day for the next week or so (not much of a sacrifice when you walk outside and melt in the 90 degree weather).
By the end, Lexi should
- only eat 4-5 times a day (instead of 8),
- go to bed with a short bedtime routine,
- soothe herself,
- be on a schedule,
- and, possibly, not use a pacifier.
Wahoo, independence for all.

I am running for the first time ever. When a sport is not involved, I don’t enjoy running. But I’ve been doing it for the past 2 weeks (wahoo). So now how do I stop my knees from hurting? I am trying to run on the road instead of the sidewalk, but it hasn’t seemed to help? Advice anyone? Do I just need to be a more experienced runner? Any other tips you have learned? Share the knowledge. I would like to be a better runner, something I thought I would never say.

This had better work! I feel as though I am murdering my child. I hope she catches on quickly.
